Inspecting radiographs

As well as routine consultations and surgery, Cockburn Veterinary Group offers the following services:

Radiography

We take plain and contrast radiographs (x-rays) to identify injuries and investigate a wide variety of other complaints.  We take specific x-rays for submission to the British Veterinary Association for hip and elbow dysplasia (HD and ED) scoring to contribute to its attempts to help breeders eradicate this genetic problem.

Endoscopy

This procedure allows us to look inside your animal to investigate breathing problems and, in some cases, vomiting problems.

Tonometry

Similar to the way in which your optician performs this procedure to detect glaucoma in its early stages, we can measure the intra-occular (internal eye) pressure to detect and manage this condition in your pet.

Dentistry

Oral hygiene is as important for your companion animal as it is for you, so we offer ultrasonic scaling and polishing of your pet’s teeth for a fresher, nicer to be close to, smile! 

Orthopedic Surgery

As well as the operations we carry out ourselves, we call on the services of a specialist orthopedic surgeon to carry out more complex operations when necessary, to ensure that we provide the best available care for your companion.
